Players improve when sessions have a clear plan, standards are consistent and the atmosphere is encouraging.
In every session we aim for:
Energetic, well-organised coaching that helps young players work hard, improve their skills and grow in confidence.
Matt Tally Player Development is based at KGV Hub in Worcester and focuses on one thing: helping young footballers get better in the right environment.
We run weekly coaching, camps, tots sessions and parties for players who enjoy their football and want more than a casual kick-about.
Sessions are planned, organised and clear, so players know what they’re working on and parents can see steady progress.
Over the years we’ve worked with thousands of young players across Worcestershire – from four-year-olds taking their first steps in football to players at Worcester City Youth, Worcester City Women’s First Team and academy environments.
That experience shapes how we coach. Standards are high, but the tone is positive. We expect effort, respect and good attitude, and in return players get supportive coaching, honest feedback and a place they look forward to coming each week.

We’ve worked with thousands of young players across Worcestershire – from four-year-olds taking their first steps in football to players at Worcester City Youth, Worcester City Women’s First Team and Aston Villa Academy.
This experience helps us understand what each child needs to improve, stay motivated and grow in confidence.

I founded MTPD and have worked with thousands of young players across Worcestershire — from four-year-olds taking their first touches to players who’ve gone on to Worcester City Youth, Worcester City Women’s First Team and Aston Villa Academy. That range of experience shapes how I coach every session.
I lead the Elite programme, run the development groups and deliver 1-2-1 coaching for players who want focused, individual attention. My sessions are built around repetition, clear coaching points and high standards — I expect effort and give honest feedback in return.
I specialise in coaching younger age groups and lead many of the Tots and Little Ballers sessions. I also run 1-2-1 sessions, small group training and team sessions — and while younger players are my strength, I’m available to all ages.
I keep things high-energy and fun, but there’s always structure behind it. I want every child to enjoy the session, pick up real skills and leave feeling good about what they’ve done.
The difference parents see in their children after regular training with us.
My boys have been coached by coach Tally for the last 7-8 years since he started out, the passion he has for developing children and building their confidence is second to none.
The coaches he has brought along with him as he has expanded are all fantastic with the kids and the kids are all encouraged to make good training partners and this is reflected by the friends my boys have made over the years.
My 3 year old has recently joined Tally Tots and he loves it! Coach Webby really takes the time to teach him the core skills providing a great foundation for the future.
They know how to make it fun and exciting while keeping the kids engaged, which isn’t easy for this age group.
My lad looks forward to going every week.
Matt Tally has coached Oli & Josh for a number of years now – the sessions are fast paced, intensive and fun.
All the coaches are great, but Tally in particular has a way of motivating the kids that we haven’t found in another coach.
The boys work really hard in his sessions and they have improved no end, it’s testament to his coaching that they both play to such a high standard now.
Thank you! 🌟
My daughter has been attending Tally’s for at least 2-3 yrs.
Her confidence has grown so much but so have her skills.
She loves training there, learning new skills and putting it onto practice.
She has her moments where she thinks she isn’t good enough and her head drops – the coaches are straight in, talking her through it.
It is a challenge but what a result!
My son absolutely loves Matt Tally football sessions.
He became much more confident, developed his skills and put it into practice during matches.
Matt is so encouraging and engaging, and develops a lovely rapport with all his ballers.
Would highly recommend
My daughter has been attending the girls only sessions for almost 2 years and they have been instrumental in developing her from someone who had barely kicked a ball to now playing club football.
I cannot speak highly enough of Matt, Mark and the rest of the coaches and would highly recommend them to any parent who would like their child to develop in a caring and friendly environment.
We’ll match your child to a suitable group, see how they get on and then suggest the best option for regular training.
MTPD kit keeps things consistent across sessions. It’s practical for coaches, comfortable for players and helps everyone feel part of the same set-up.
